GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Enjoying a sun-filled sky and temperatures in the mid-70s, over 200 supporters of the Green Bay women's basketball program hit the links on June 27 at Thornberry Creek at Oneida for the 2017 Prevea Fore Hoops Golf Classic.

The event, now in its 23rd season, set a record for dollars raised once again and eclipsed $130,000, all of which will directly benefit the women's basketball program. The money raised came from various auctions and drawings, along with a number of donations. The live auction, hosted by on-air personality John Maino, was once again a huge success.

"The cost of sustaining a high-level program and one of the best in the Midwest continues to increase on a year-to-year basis, and we would not be able to uphold our level of success without this event and the people who are a part of it. Our gratitude for the continued support for the program can not be overstated," head coach Kevin Borseth said. 

During the event, golfers were able to meet with the Phoenix players and staff. Throughout the day, there were giveaways, contests, entertainment and prizes. The evening concluded with a banquet dinner at the clubhouse.  

"Again we would like to thank the Fast Break Club for their leadership in putting this event together; they are an unbelievably dedicated group we are so fortunate to work with. In addition, we are humbled by the outpouring of support from the sponsors and participants who showed such generosity this year. Our players and staff are extremely grateful," Borseth said.
