INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Helping lead Green Bay to a 2-0 start in league play with a pair of impressive performances, Sandy Cohen III and PJ Pipes have been named the Horizon League's Player and Freshman of the Week, respectively. It's the first HL weekly award for any GB men's basketball player this year and the first career awards for both Cohen III and Pipes. 

Player of the Week
Sandy Cohen III | Green Bay | Guard | Seymour, Wis.
Cohen III is averaging 20.5 PPG through the first two Horizon League games, leading Green Bay to back-to-back home victories over Detroit Mercy and Oakland for a 2-0 start in league. The redshirt-junior scored a career-high 24 in the team's win over the Titans, before netting 17 points and 12 rebounds for his first career double-double against league-favorite Oakland in the Phoenix's 80-79 thrilling upset victory. Cohen III is third in the HL in scoring through the first weekend of league play and is fourth in rebounding (9.0 RPG), all while shooting 46.7 percent (14-for-30) from the field and converting on 9 of his 11 free throw attempts. The Seymour-native also notched 3 blocks and 3 steals in the win over Oakland, and leads the Phoenix in scoring now with 17.5 PPG over the last four games he's been active.
 
Freshman of the Week
PJ Pipes | Green Bay | Guard | Woodridge, Ill.
Pipes helped the Phoenix get off to a perfect 2-0 start in Horizon League this past weekend, the fifth-straight season the team has done so, averaging 11.5 PPG in those two games. The freshman shot a highly-efficient 7-for-11 (63.6 percent) from the field, a perfect 3-for-3 from the 3-point line and 6-for-7 (85.7 percent) from the free throw line. Getting the start in both games and averaging 23.5 MPG, Pipes was fourth on the team in scoring and converted a late basket with less than two minutes to play to give Green Bay the lead over Oakland before eventually securing the 80-79 upset victory. Pipes has now scored in double-figures in each of his last six games. 

The Phoenix will host IUPUI tonight at the Resch Center for a 7 p.m. tip.
