Khalil Small has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week. It's Small's first award this season, and the third award given to a Green Bay player.

Khalil Small led the Phoenix to a pair of home wins over Cleveland State (66-44) and Youngstown State (85-67) as his team won by an average margin of 20 points in the two games. Small averaged 26.0 points per game in the two victories, scoring 27 points against CSU on Thursday and following that up with 25 points against YSU on Saturday. Cumulatively, he went a perfect 14-for-14 at the free throw line, playing a team-high 37.5 minutes per game while shooting 48.6 percent (17-for-35). The Chicago native also averaged 6.5 rebounds and recorded six assists and five steals. Small is second in the Horizon League in scoring with 20.5 PPG in league games and has now scored 20-plus points in seven of his last nine outings.
The Phoenix will visit Milwaukee on Friday night for a 7 p.m. tip, looking for its third-straight win.
