GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- For the third time this season, the Horizon League announced Green Bay senior Vanessa Buman as the Defensive Player of the Week on Monday morning.
Buman continues to be a dominant defensive force for the Phoenix, collecting 33 digs against Northern Kentucky in four sets, an impressive 8.25 per set. The libero also tallied 18 digs versus IUPUI in three sets to bring her weekend total to 55.
The senior has also moved into the first place spot for digs per set in conference play as the only player above six digs per set. This upcoming weekend, Buman and the Phoenix will take to the road for their last full travel weekend of the regular season, taking on Youngstown State at 5:00 p.m. CT on Friday and Cleveland State at 3:00 p.m. CT on Saturday afternoon.
This marks the third career Horizon League Player of the Week honor for Buman.
