GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Green Bay men's tennis senior
James Ling was named to the All-League First Team, announced the Horizon League on Thursday. This marks the second time that the native of Ipswich, England has been given league honors after being selected to the All-League Second Team last year.
As Green Bay goes into the conference tournament as the No. 5 seed, Ling will lead the Phoenix by playing in both the No. 1 singles position and doubles spot. Ling holds an even 8-8 overall record in 2019, one of the best win percentages for the Phoenix. Paired with classmate
Miles McDowall in doubles, the duo owns an 8-6 record, proving the senior's ability to lead in both portions of the game.
The team will face the No. 4 ranked IUPUI Jaguars this Friday at 10 a.m. in the Quarterfinal round of the Horizon League Championship, held in West Lafayette, Indiana at Purdue University. If they move on, they will take on defending champions and No. 1 seed Cleveland State on Saturday at 10 a.m.
