GREEN BAY, Wis.
(GreenBayPhoenix.com) - After winning
in a come-from-behind thriller at Cleveland State on Thursday night, the Green
Bay women's basketball team (13-2, 3-0 HL) will wrap up a trip to Ohio with a
visit to Youngstown State (11-4, 1-1 HL) on Saturday night. Green Bay will look
to win its ninth straight in the matchup, which is set to tip at 6 p.m. central
time.
In the win against Cleveland State, Green Bay overcame
a forgettable first half in which it trailed by as many as 12 points. After
shooting just 26.1 percent from the field in the first half, the Phoenix shot
50 percent from the field in the second as it slowly chipped away at the
Vikings' lead. Senior Sarah Eichler (Grafton,
Wis.), who scored a game-high 17 points, banked in a three with 1:35 to put
Green Bay on top 52-49. After nine lead changes and three ties in the half,
Green Bay ended the back-and-forth battle and sealed the win.
Youngstown State has been the surprise of the Horizon
League this season, compiling an 11-4 record after finishing last in the
