GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Fans wanting to watch the Green Bay men's basketball team compete for the conference title in the New Year can purchase a Horizon League 3-Game Pack and attend any three 2013-14 league games of their choice, the athletics department announced on Friday.
The Horizon League 3-Pack begins at just $31 for adults and $19 for youth fans 17 or younger. Led by the All-Horizon League duo of senior Alec Brown (Winona, Minn.) and junior Keifer Sykes (Chicago, Ill.), the preseason conference favorite plays an entertaining style of basketball and is off to a 7-3 start this season entering Saturday's non-conference home game against Fairfield at 1 p.m.
Horizon League play for head coach Brian Wardle's team begins at the Resch Center on Thursday, Jan. 2 when the Phoenix hosts Cleveland State at 7 p.m. Two days later, Youngstown State visits Green Bay for a 1 p.m. tip-off on Saturday, Jan. 4. The team will welcome each conference opponent to the Resch during its Horizon League season, including Oakland (Jan. 22), Detroit (Jan. 26), Wright State (Feb. 1), UIC (Feb. 5), Milwaukee (Feb. 8) and Valparaiso (Feb. 20).
GAME TIME CHANGE
Green Bay's home game on Saturday, Feb. 1 against Wright State has been moved from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. to accommodate the ESPN2 television schedule. Green Bay was selected as the Horizon League preseason favorite over Wright State by just one vote.
