BOWLING GREEN, Ohio. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay men's basketball team went 20-for-22 from the free throw line en route to a 77-61 victory at Bowling Green in its second game of the weekend's Bill Frack Tournament. The Phoenix (2-2), a day after scoring 77 points and losing, was on the right side of the score on Sunday evening, earning its second victory on the young season.
Freshman Trevor Anderson scored a career-high 18 points, marking the fourth-straight game he has reached double figures. Turner Botz added 15 points, knocking down three of the seven made three-pointers by the Phoenix. Charles Cooper (13 points) and Khalil Small (11 points) each recorded double figures in the road victory.
The second half marked a game of runs, but it was head coach Linc Darner's Green Bay squad that was on the right side of a 10-0 run from about the 10 minute mark to the 7:30 mark. From that 10 minute mark on, Green Bay would never trail again.
The Phoenix also converted a season-high 20 free throws, a day after shooting 51 percent (15-for-29).
Green Bay concludes the Bill Frack Challenge on Monday afternoon when it faces UMKC, who has won their first two games of the tournament.
