Turnovers Hurt Green Bay in 73-59 Loss at No. 14 Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay men's basketball team gave the ball away too many times on the road against 14th-ranked Wisconsin on Wednesday evening at the Kohl Center, falling 73-59 to wrap up a four-game road trip. The Phoenix (4-6) committed a season-high 19 turnovers and found themselves in foul trouble early in the second half, as the Badgers (10-2) were able to pull away with a couple of long runs.

Green Bay was within seven points in the second half, but the Badgers would go on a 12-0 run midway through that half to pull away. A pair of long scoring droughts, one that exceeded five minutes, would ultimately plague the Phoenix, which will finally return home on Saturday following a long road swing.

Kerem Kanter led Green Bay with 18 points and made three three-pointers. Kanter has now scored 17, 23 and 18 points in his last three games, respectively. Khalil Small added 12 points and Charles Cooper chipped in with 10.

The Phoenix finished the game on a 7-0 run to make the final score more respectable. Nigel Hayes led the Badgers with 24 points.
