GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Green Bay men's basketball assistant coach Ben Swank was recently selected to the 2016 Under Armour 30-under-30 Team presented by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
The list, which honors both head coaches and assistant coaches under the age of 30 across all levels in college basketball, was announced at the annual AT&T NABC Guardians of the Game Awards Show in Houston on Sunday, April 3.
Swank was the only coach from the Horizon League or the state of Wisconsin named to the list, which included six Power 5 assistant coaches and a majority of mid-major assistants.
Swank just completed his first season at Green Bay, joining head coach Linc Darner's staff in May 2015. He also served as assistant coach with Darner at Florida Southern for the latter two years, where the two combined to win the 2015 NCAA Division II National Championship.
In just his first season on the Green Bay bench, Swank helped lead the Phoenix to its first NCAA Tournament bid in 20 years and lifted the trophy as the 2016 Horizon League Tournament Champions following the team's win over Wright State in Detroit for #MotorCityMadness.
With Swank on the sidelines, Green Bay set multiple program records including points scored, steals, total rebounds, field goals made and free throws made among many others. The team ranked first in the NCAA in total steals and free throws attempted and ranked sixth in points per game.

About the National Association of Basketball Coaches
Located in Kansas City, MO, the NABC was founded in 1927 by Forrest “Phog” Allen, the legendary basketball coach at the University of Kansas. Allen, a student of James Naismith, the inventor of basketball, organized coaches into this collective group to serve as Guardians of the Game. The NABC currently claims nearly 5,000 members consisting primarily of university and college men's basketball coaches. All members of the NABC are expected to uphold the core values of being a Guardian of the Game by bringing attention to the positive aspects of the sport of basketball and the role coaches play in the academic and athletic lives of today's student-athletes. The four core values of being a Guardian of the Game are advocacy, leadership, service and education. Additional information about the NABC, its programs and membership, can be found at www.nabc.org.
