CHARLESTON, Ind. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay men's golf team finished in seventh place at the Crusader Collegiate on Tuesday, firing off back to back team scores of 300 after an opening round 298. George Kneiser led the Phoenix with a T-11 finish, shooting 4-over par for the tournament, highlighted by a tournament-best second round score of 68. The junior just missed out on his second-straight top 10 finish this fall.
Kneiser rebounded nicely after an opening round 78, besting his score by 10 strokes in the next round before shooting a final round 74. He was -1 on the par 3s in the tournament and averaged 2.75 strokes on average on the par 3 holes. Brady Sarauer finished T-27 at 10-over par, shooting an opening round 72 and final round 73. Sarauer was -1 total on the par 4 holes, one of just four golfers averaging under par on those holes.
Bennett Hutson finished 11-over par with a T-34 finish, shooting an opening round 74..
Green Bay will hit the links next week when it takes part in the NKU Fall Classic in Batavia, Ohio. The tournament will take place at Elks Run Golf Course on Sunday (9/23) and Monday (9/24).
