QUICK HITS
EXPECT SOME POINTS
When Green Bay and Florida International tip-off, it will be two of the Top 10 fastest teams in the NCAA doing battle. FIU ranks No. 1 in the KenPom adjusted tempo metric, while GB ranks 10th. The metric measures the number of possessions a team has in a game, with FIU averaging 77.4 and GB averaging 73.7. The 102 points scored by GB in the First Round are the most points scored by a team in any postseason game this year, and FIU poured in 87 in their victory over Texas State, which is the 11th-best average.

FIRST-EVER MEETING
It may not come as a surprise, but this will be the first-ever meeting between Green Bay and Florida International all-time. FIU did go 2-0 against Horizon League teams this season, beating Milwaukee at home and Youngstown State at the Johnny Bach Classic in New York. Additionally, FIU will be the third-straight team GB is facing with 20 or more wins on the season (Wright State, ETSU, FIU).

POSTSEASON PARTY
Green Bay is making its sixth postseason appearance in the last seven seasons (3rd in 4 seasons under Darner) after accepting an invite to the 2019 CIT. GB has now played in the NCAA, CBI and CIT under Darner and will be making its second appearance all-time in the CIT. The Phoenix took part in the CIT after the 2012-13 season, when it finished 18-16, before losing to Bradley in the First Round. GB joins IUPUI as the two teams from the Horizon League to be playing in the CIT, with four teams total from the HL making postseason play this year (NKU in the NCAA; Wright State in the NIT). GB is the last remaining Horizon League team to be playing this season, and the last collegiate team in the state of Wisconsin.

HOW WE GOT HERE
The Phoenix scored its most points against a Division I opponent this season in the First Round win over East Tennessee State last Wednesday, coming away with the 102-94 victory on the road. The win gave GB the Hugh Durham Classic trophy, and Sandy Cohen III took home the MVP trophy honors for his 29-point effort. GB shot 72 percent in the first half and had all five players score in double-figures, while also finishing 21-for-27 at the free throw line. ETSU took a 9-point lead at 90-81 with around 6 minutes left in the game, but GB stormed back to close the game on a 21-4 run, winning its first postseason game since 2010.

PLAYING THE FIELD
Five of Green Bay's 11 D1 non-conference opponents made a postseason appearance, with four of those teams playing in the NCAA Tournament and two of them making it to the Sweet Sixteen after the opening weekend of the tournament. While GB only went 1-4 in those five games, its non-conference schedule ranked 11th among all D1 teams this season. GB's signature win came over a Belmont squad at home, which was the only mid-major team to an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament this year. GB had the strongest non-conference schedule among all Horizon League teams this season.

TEAMING UP FOR THE RECORD BOOK
Linc Darner's 2018-19 team will have its name among many of the top 5 single season team record categories, including points scored, points per game, field goals made, field goals attempted, steals and made 3-pointers. In his fourth season at the helm, Darner now has four of the top five single season team scoring totals. He also has three of the top five in total steals. Check out where this year's team ranks in those categories:
Total Points: 2,755; 2nd most all-time
Total Steals: 266; 2nd most all-time
Field Goal Attempts: 2,144; 2nd most all-time
Points Per Game: 81.0; 4th most all-time
Field Goals Made: 979; 2nd most all-time
3-Pointers Made: 268; tied for 2nd most all-time

SUPER SANDY
Senior Sandy Cohen III has been the catalyst to the success of Green Bay this season and earned MVP honors for his efforts ETSU in the First Round, now averaging 17.5 PPG and earning First Team All-Horizon League honors for his efforts. Cohen has been playing his best basketball of late, having now scored 20 or more points in six out of his last eight games, including a game-high 29 points in his team's win over ETSU. The Seymour native has scored in double-figures in 30 of his 34 games played this season, with 12 games of 20 points or more. He leads his team in every major statistical category: scoring, rebounding, assists, steals, blocks and minutes.

McCLOUD NINE
A potential Horizon All-League snub, JayQuan McCloud had an outstanding junior and first season with GB. McCloud is averaging 13.7 PPG this year and has scored double-figures in 22 of 34 games this year, including eight games with 20 points or more. He scored 19 points in the First Round victory over ETSU and ranks 15th in the Horizon League scoring. He leads the team in made 3-pointers with 69 on the season.

RINGING THE BELL
Sophomore Trevian Bell has stepped up off the bench for GB, scoring another 9 points and adding 7 rebounds in his team's win over ETSU. Bell also scored a career-high 15 points thanks to three made 3-pointers in the HL Quarterfinal win over UIC. Bell was the player UIC dared to shoot and beat them, and the Joliet, Ill., native did just that. Bell played a season-high 24 minutes and went 5-for-7 from the field, netting just his fifth double-figure scoring game of the year. He might be the player that Darner needs to step up and surprise, helping the consistent efforts of Cohen, McCloud and Hemphill.

FILL OF HEMPHILL
ShanQuan Hemphill, who goes by Tank, has been one of the most consistent players for the Phoenix lately, scoring another 15 points in the CIT First Round win over ETSU. That gave Hemphill his 25th game in double-figures this season, who ranks third on the team in scoring with 11.7 PPG. Tank is the only player on the roster to start in all 34 games this year and enjoyed a stretch in February where he racked up three-straight double-doubles.
