GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) -- The 19th Annual Phoenix Packers Steak Fry presented by Prevea Health included close to 900 Phoenix fans in a filled Lambeau Field Atrium who helped raise a net profit of over $175,000 for the Phoenix Fund, the principal fund for scholarships and program support at Green Bay.

Thanks to the great support from sponsors, attendees and those who purchased raffle tickets, the event was able to maximize funds that will directly benefit the Phoenix Fund. The event has now netted over $850,000 in the past five years alone.

"The Green Bay community rallied around our student-athletes in yet another example of inspirational generosity at this year's Steak Fry event," Director of Athletics Charles Guthrie said. "The collective momentum built from our supporters as we enter the final weeks of the 18/19 athletic campaign is nothing short of tremendous and will allow us to forge ahead in building upon the mission of delivering a first-rate student athlete experience." 

Student-athletes representing the 16 Green Bay Phoenix programs attended, along with several Green Bay Packers alumni, players and personnel.

University Chancellor Dr. Gary L. Miller welcomed the crowd and thanked the attendees for their support, while continuing to emphasize the importance of the Phoenix Fund as Green Bay competes at the Division I level.

WBAY's Bill Jartz and women's basketball senior Jen Wellnitz were the emcees of the event, which nearly 900 supporters and attendees on the ground floor of the Lambeau Field Atrium.
