GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- The Phoenix is soaring west this week, traveling to California for pairings with St. Mary's and UC Davis.
The Phoenix will take the pitch against the Gaels on Thursday, before kicking off against the Aggies on Sunday. GB carries a two-game winning streak out west, marking the first time since the 1996 season where the Phoenix opened the regular season with back-to-back victories.

Most Recently for the Phoenix: Green Bay opened the 2019 campaign at Valparaiso last week and took down the former Horizon League foe, 1-0. Junior
Caitlin Hawley netted the game winner for the Phoenix against the Crusaders and added to her tally of goals later in the weekend at Chicago State.
Hawley and
Jordyn Cook found the back of the Cougars' net in the weekend finale for the Phoenix, aiding in the 2-0 victory to wrap up opening weekend. The defense held strong in the matchup as well, not allowing a single shot on goal the entire match.
Scouting the Gaels: St. Mary's dropped a pair of games in North Dakota last week, falling at NDSU to open the season (L, 1-0) before dropping a heartbreaker in double overtime at North Dakota (L, 2-1). Green Bay has only faced St. Mary's one time in program history, back in the 2015 which saw the Phoenix fall 3-0 to the visiting Gaels.
Scouting the Aggies: UC Davis opened the season at home with Sacremento State and picked up a 3-1 decision in the process. The Aggies will also take the pitch at Pacific on Thursday prior to facing the Phoenix on Sunday.
