HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Green Bay's four-game winning streak came to an end after a cold shooting performance against Northern Kentucky at the BB&T Arena on Saturday afternoon.
The Phoenix was never able to get going offensively in the matchup and was forced to battle back from the very beginning after NKU jumped out to a 14-3 lead.
GB held a slight advantage in turnovers, surrendering only 16 to the host's 17, but the Norse was able to capitalize on the extra opportunities and outscored the Phoenix 17-12 in points off turnovers.
Green Bay shot a season-low 15-for-52 for 28.8 percent and 4-for-20 (20 percent) from beyond the arc.
Following Saturday's setback, the Phoenix is now in a three-way tie for second place in the league standings with Wright State and Northern Kentucky at 7-4. IUPUI remains atop the league standings at 10-1.
The Norse's mark from 3-point range this afternoon was the second best of year (46.7 percent).
Caitlyn Hibner led the Phoenix with 11 points and 6 rebounds in 31 minutes.
Meghan Pingel added nine points and went 3-for-3 from long range.
NKU's Molly Glick had a game-high 12 points for the Norse.
Northern Kentucky's victory marks just the second time in program history that NKU has defeated Green Bay, which snapped a five-game winning streak for the Phoenix in the all-time series.
Green Bay heads south next weekend for a matchup with in-State rival Milwaukee, taking the floor against the Panthers on Saturday at 2 p.m.
