Green Bay Men's Soccer Adds 12 During Spring Signing Period

4/15/2020 7:37:00 AM

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- The Green Bay men's soccer team and head coach Jeremy Bonomo announced the addition of 12 newcomers during the 2020 spring signing period. The talent-rich class compliments the current roster and will make an immediate impact on the program.

"We are excited about this fine group of young men and couldn't be more thrilled that they are joining our program and family," Bonomo said. "We wanted to bring in a mixture of young talent and experienced older players to help with our current exciting, returning core. This class includes regional talent from Wisconsin and Illinois, and stretches all the way to New Jersey. It also includes a diverse group of international talent and transfers."

Lorenzo Battagliarin
Position: DCM
Hometown: Venice, Italy
Previous School: Illinois Central College

Bonomo on Battagliarin: "Lorenzo's experience and ability will help fill the void after we lost multiple four-year starters in the middle.  His youth playing career and experience at a high level in Junior College will help give some stability to our midfield."

Kaeleb Rainford
Position: CB
Hometown: Toronto, Ontario
Vaughan SC

Bonomo on Rainford: "Adding athleticism to our group of defenders was a goal for this class and we did just that with the addition of Kaeleb.  He has the size and speed to be a real handful for attacking players. Lots of potential to grow into an outstanding center back."

Josh Solomon
Position: M
Hometown: Toronto, Ontario
Vaughan SC

Bonomo on Solomon: "Josh has a unique skillset with the ball at his feet. His ability in tight spaces will work well with our system.  Another versatile player that can play a number of attacking positions, we are excited to get him in the mix come August."

Ruben Linden
Position: CB
Hometown: Vaxco, Sweden
Rottne IF

Bonomo on Linden: "Ruben is a CB that has poise on the ball and can also defend well.  We are looking forward to watching him blend with the other defenders and help us in the beginning stages of our possession game."

Kolton Prater
Position: DCM
Hometown: Hudson, WI
St. Croix Academy

Bonomo on Prater: "Kolton is another in-state product we identified early in the process.  His physical presence on the field was something we certainly took notice of during the beginning stages of his recruitment. Adding quality Wisconsin talent is something we focus on each year."

Ninrod Picado
Position: CB
Hometown: Alajuela, Costa Rica
Previous School: Stetson University
Deportivo Saprissa / U-20 Costa Rica National Team

Bonomo on Picado: "With departure of so many experienced defenders, bringing in a player such as Ninrod was a priority for us.  He has started and played heavy minutes at the DI level and his international experience should blend in with our brand and style."

Deniz Ersoz
Position: LB
Hometown: Ridgefield, NJ
NJ Stallions Juve

Bonomo on Ersoz: "Deniz was a pleasant surprise in the recruiting process. We were able to watch him at National League a bit later in the recruiting calendar and he certainly possessed all the characteristics we look for in our defenders.  He has tremendous upside."

Michael McDougall
Position: FWD
Hometown: Perth, Australia
Previous School: Stetson University
Perth Glory FC
U-17 Australian National Team

Bonomo on McDougall: "Michael is a player with a quality skillset. He will be able to play multiple positions in the attack and be able to bring an added and needed dimension.  As a transfer, he will add valuable experience to a team with young talent."

Josh Johansen
Position: CM
Hometown: Huntley, IL
Libertyville 1974 FC

Bonomo on Johansen: "Josh is quick and versatile player. His ability to play in a possession-based system is what caught our attention.  He can play multiple positions which is something we value."

Daniyal Rana
Position: GK
Hometown: Waukesha, WI
SC Waukesha

Bonomo on Rana: "Dani is an explosive GK that we had the privilege of working with at our Summer Training Centers.  We were able to see him develop over the last couple of years with his club and are excited to have him as part of the team."

Bobby Curran
Position: GK
Hometown: South Elgin, IL
Sockers FC

Bonomo on Curran: "We were able to watch Bobby at one of our Winter Training Centers.  He has all the physical tools to grow into a D1 keeper.  He's a fine addition to our squad and has good upside."

Dylan Campbell
Position:  MID/FWD
Hometown: Whitby, Ontario, Canada
Seneca College
