Greetings,
First and foremost, all of us with Green Bay Athletics hope that you and your loved ones are staying safe during these trying times! I am reaching out to provide an update regarding season tickets and the upcoming 2020-21 Green Bay basketball seasons.
I,
Joey Daniels, am happy to introduce myself as your new ticket director here at UW-Green Bay, serving as your primary contact for all things ticket related in one of my new roles for the Phoenix. I have worked at UWGB since 2014 and have worked nearly every men's and women's basketball game in some capacity, so I am familiar with the passion and energy you bring. I am taking over during one of the most difficult and unknown times during our community and program's history with the COVID-19 pandemic, but I am excited to work with you and look forward to building many relationships this coming season.
With that said, I am sure you have questions regarding the upcoming GB basketball season. We have done our best here to answer any questions you have had over the last couple of months, and I have already communicated with some season ticket holders by phone or email to provide feedback. Like you, we also have many questions and a lot is still yet to be determined. But here's what we do know, as of today…
The basketball season is still currently scheduled as planned. While the Horizon League did postpone fall sports competition for the Fall season, no decisions have been made regarding basketball as of this writing. We are hopeful and optimistic we have an uninterrupted season just like you are, but also understand that this season is going to look much different than any other. If we've learned anything over these last four months, this situation is fluid and changes daily. I will do my best to communicate significant updates or changes as they come.
We do know that we will, barring a dramatic shift, be restricted on our attendance and capacity numbers for this year. What those exact restrictions are regarding capacity, social distancing, PPE, available seats and others, is still to be determined. We will follow the guidelines in place by state and local health departments, along with any NCAA, Horizon League or University requirements.
With the many unknowns still in place, we feel it best to not accept renewal payments, new buyers or begin the seat selection process
until we know more information, which we hope comes soon. We have your information on file from last season, and you are still in your same status to renew when available. This gives you the most flexibility, without having to deal with the many unknowns; let us deal with those.
I will be reaching out again, if conditions allow, in September when we anticipate more information becoming available. In the meantime, I am asking you to answer one quick question for me, gauging your interest for this coming season. You can answer that question online, which will be submitted electronically back to me.
