WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Green Bay men's basketball team will continue their five-game road trip to begin the 2022-23 season with a stop in the nation's capital to face Georgetown. It will be the first-ever matchup between the Hoyas and Phoenix. The game is a part of the 2022 Jersey Mike's Jamaica Classic, with the Phoenix set to travel to Montego Bay next week for two more games in the tournament.

The Phoenix and Hoyas have never met. Saturday's contest will be the first time Green Bay visits Georgetown.
ABOUT THE HOYAS
Patrick Ewing, a Georgetown grad of 1985, enters his sixth season at the helm of the Hoyas program. The Hoyas defeated Coppin State 99-89 on Tuesday, led by Primo Spears' 28 points. Brandon Murray and Akok Akok also showed out, with Murray pacing the team in assists (8), steals (4), and minutes (44), while Akok grabbed 12 rebounds and registered five blocks. Georgetown finished 2021-22 with a 6-25 record.

July 18 - Nearly 160 Green Bay men's basketball supporters enjoy a successful Swing and Swish Golf Outing with the team.
August 16 - The complete 2022-23 schedule is unveiled.
October 11 - the program participates in the inaugural Phoenix Phan Night.
LAST MATCHUP
The Phoenix opened the 2022-23 campaign with an 80-53 loss at Indiana State. Davin Zeigler was impressive for Green Bay, posting 19 points to go with eight rebounds. Zae Blake added nine points off the bench, and Cade Meyer tallied seven.
WHAT'S UP, BRO?
Zane and Donavan Short, products of Denmark, Wis., and Denmark High School, officially joined the team during the offseason. Donavan, the younger of the two brothers, committed to Green Bay on Nov. 12, 2021, while Zane joined in the offseason.
KEEPING IT LOCAL
Head coach Will Ryan has amassed a total of eight players on the 2022-23 roster that are from Wisconsin. Ryan's 2021-22 squad also featured eight players from in-state, which was the highest total of in-state players since the 2009-10 season when there were seven players as such under Tod Kowalczyk.
BLOCK HEFFNER
Brock Heffner transferred from Hawaii to Green Bay in the offseason and hosted a block party against Indiana State, racking up four of GB's five blocks. Heffner redshirted last season with the Rainbow Warriors and is from Grafton, Wisconsin.
TOO EASY FOR DZ
Davin Zeigler opened his first year with the Phoenix on a high note, leading the team with 19 points and eight rebounds in the season opener at Indiana State. His 19 points are the second-highest total in a single game in his career, and his eight rebounds are a career-high. Zeigler spent last season at Indian Hills Community College after beginning his collegiate career with Bowling Green during his freshman and sophomore seasons.
