CHICAGO, Ill. – It was a tough night for the Green Bay men's basketball team on Tuesday, as the Phoenix came up short in a 70-46 loss to the Loyola Chicago Ramblers. Tuesday night's game was the second game of a back-to-back.
Cade Meyer led the Phoenix (1-8) with 15 points. Zae Blake and Randy Tucker also added nine points each.
GB struggled from the floor, finishing 16-of-59 (27.1-percent) from the floor and 4-of-25 (16.0-percent) from deep.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Both teams traded baskets early, with Loyola Chicago building a slight 10-6 lead at the 14:48 mark of the first half. From there, the Ramblers finished the half on a 27-10 run to take a 37-16 lead into the break.
Loyola Chicago kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 43-21 advantage before Green Bay went on a 7-0 run, finished off by Garren Davis' jumper, to shrink the deficit to 43-28 with 12:46 to go in the contest. The Ramblers responded and outscored the Phoenix the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 70-46.

» Green Bay cleaned up on the offensive glass, collecting 15 offensive boards in the game.
» Meyer scored in double figures for the fourth time this season.
» Green Bay got five rebounds from both Donavan Short and Blake.
» Loyola Chicago won the rebound battle 40-32.
UP NEXT
Green Bay will look to grab another win on their home court this Saturday when they host Kansas City at the Resch Center at 7 p.m. They'll have a quick turnaround following that matchup, as they'll travel to St. Paul, Minn. to take on St. Thomas on Tuesday, Dec. 13.
