ABOUT THE PANTHERS
Milwaukee is coming into Sunday off of what is likely their best win of the season, taking down Horizon League second-place Wright State 60-57. The Panthers were led by a duo off the bench, Donovan Newby and Tafari Simms. Newby scored 15 points and Simms secured a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double. MKE had lost six straight prior to the win over the Raiders. They are 6-11 in HL play, sitting at ninth in the league.
On the year, Milwaukee is led by junior guard DeAndre Gholston, who averages 14.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. It is yet to be seen whether freshman Patrick Baldwin Jr. will play on Sunday. He was expected to play against Wright State Friday night but was a late scratch. Baldwin has played 11 games this year, averaging 12.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. As a team, the Panthers have one of the Horizon League's stingiest defenses. They allow opponents to shoot just 40.0-percent from the floor, almost two full percentage points lower than the Cleveland State in second place.
