FORT WAYNE, Ind. -The Green Bay women's basketball team had one of their best offensive nights of the season Thursday night, getting back in the win column with a 73-57 victory over the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons.
The Phoenix (18-6, 14-4) had three players score in double figures, led by Sydney Levy, who had 18 points and seven rebounds. Levy was on fire from beyond the arc, going 6-for-8 in the contest. Callie Genke added a career-high 15 points from the bench and Hailey Oskey helped out with 13 points and four assists.
The Green Bay offense was impressive from beyond the arc, pouring in nine threes on 26 attempts.
Green Bay's defense held Purdue Fort Wayne to only 34.6-percent shooting from the field, including 28.1-percent from beyond the arc. The Mastodons did not have much luck cleaning up their misses on the offensive glass either, as they finished with seven offensive rebounds and managed only six second-chance points while Green Bay cleared 26 defensive rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Green Bay started off strong, grabbing an 8-3 lead after a quick six points from Maddy Schreiber. The Phoenix held serve and had a 17-13 lead heading into the second quarter. Green Bay did most of its first quarter damage in the paint, scoring 16 of its 17 points close to the basket.
The Mastodons kept the game close until Green Bay ripped off a 12-3 in the final 3:40 of the first half to take a 42-30 edge going into the break. Levy hit 4-of-5 from downtown in the half.
After intermission, Green Bay put together another impressive quarter, outscoring Purdue Fort Wayne 19-10 in the frame to grab a 61-40 lead heading into the fourth. Green Bay's bench made the most of its minutes in the period, as non-starters totaled 12 of the team's 19 third-quarter points.
GB extended their lead to 26 after an Oskey three with 6:55 left in the game. The Mastodons responded with a 10-0 run to bring the score to 69-53 with 2:09 to go, but baskets from Schreiber and Caelan Givens stopped the run and gave the Phoenix a 73-57 win.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Phoenix will close out the regular season at Cleveland State on Saturday. The Vikings are currently in the No. 4 slot in the Horizon League with a 14-5 conference record. The winner of Saturday's game would grab the No. 3 seed heading into postseason play, while the loser would be the No. 4 seed.
