Green Bay Unable to Keep Pace with Hot Shooting Cleveland State in Horizon League Semifinals

Cleveland State shot lights out from the get-go, and ended the day shooting 48.1-percent from the floor and 50.0-percent from three-point range. The Vikings offense was humming despite their leading scorer, Destiny Leo, only scoring five points.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Schreiber made a three to make it 7-5, but the Vikings responded with another run, this time 10-2 to take a 17-7 lead into the quarter break.

Cleveland State kept adding to that lead, building a 26-9 advantage before Green Bay went on an 8-0 run to narrow its deficit to 26-17. Cleveland State responded and expanded its lead, leaving the Phoenix trailing 32-19 heading into halftime after Deja Williams hit a jumper with five seconds in the half.

Cleveland State continued to increase its lead after halftime, building a 41-24 advantage before Green Bay went on a 6-0 run, punctuated by a three from Levy, to trim its deficit to 41-30 with 2:58 to go in the third. Cleveland State countered and stretched its lead to 47-34 heading into the fourth. Green Bay knocked down three three-pointers in the quarter to score nine of its 15 total points.
