GREEN BAY, Wis. --- Heading into her first full season at the helm of the Green Bay women's soccer program, head coach Julie Grutzner announced the full 2022 schedule on Monday afternoon. The 16-game schedule includes ten Horizon League games and seven games at Aldo Santaga Stadium.
 
"I am excited about our 2022 schedule," Grutzner said. "We have added some top-notch programs, including both Wisconsin and Marquette, to the non-conference schedule that will test us. After a successful 2021 season, our players are ready to compete, and I think the first six weeks will prepare us for our competitive Horizon League Conference."
 
Before the regular season kicks off at St. Thomas on Aug. 18 at 4 p.m., the Phoenix will play in two exhibition matches. On Aug. 10, Green Bay will play South Dakota State at the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minn., and UW-Parkside at Aldo Santaga on Aug. 14.
 
The home opener will come on Sunday, Aug. 21, as the Phoenix will host Chicago State at Aldo Santaga at 1 p.m. GB will play four more non-conference games before their Horizon League opener, including back-to-back road contests at in-state rivals Wisconsin (Aug. 28) and Marquette (Sept. 4).
 
This season, GB is playing all three of its Division I in-state rivals, the first time they've done so since the 2009 season.
 
The team's Horizon League schedule starts with a road game at Robert Morris on Sept. 15. They won't have to wait long for their first home HL contest, as the Phoenix hosts Oakland on Sept. 18.
 
GB will go on a three-game road trip from the end of September to the beginning of October before playing four of their final five games in Green Bay. That stretch will start with Cleveland State on Oct. 9, and end with the regular season finale against Milwaukee on October 26.
 
To make the Horizon League Championship, the Phoenix will have to finish in the top 6. The No. 3-6 seeds will play in the Horizon League Quarterfinals on October 30, with the top two seeds getting a bye to the semis.
