INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Horizon League released the #HLMSOC All-League awards Friday afternoon, and numerous Green Bay players earned honors. Four Phoenix collected at least one award, while
Hesron Barry and
Tobias Jahn tallied two awards apiece.
Tobias Jahn and
Hesron Barry earning consecutive Player of the Year honors, marking the first time a player has won back-to-back POTY accolades in program history.
The League voted two coaches as Co-Coach of the Year, including Green Bay's
Jeremy Bonomo.
TOBIAS JAHN - GOALKEEPER OF THE YEAR & ALL-LEAGUE FIRST TEAM
Jahn has been dominant this season, boasting a League-leading .879 GAA. He also paces the conference in save percentage (.772), and shutouts per game (.333). Jahn has tallied 44 saves, the fifth-most in the HL. Jahn took home the Horizon League Goalkeeper of the Year award in 2022 as well.
HESRON BARRY - DEFENDER OF THE YEAR & ALL-LEAGUE FIRST TEAM
Hesron Barry has been named the Horizon League's best defender for two years in a row. He has appeared in a dozen games this season, helping Green Bay to the League's best GAA. He was on the pitch for 996 minutes, with Green Bay recording five shutouts when he played.
JEREMY BONOMO - COACH OF THE YEAR
Head Coach
Jeremy Bonomo collects his second Coach of the Year award after garnering the accolade in 2017 when the Phoenix went 9-5-3 overall en route to a first-place regular-season finish.
CHRIS ALBUM - ALL-LEAGUE FIRST TEAM
Album has done an insurmountable amount of damage in 11 appearances this season, racking up eight goals. He put everyone on notice during the team's 7-0 win over Southern Indiana on Sept. 1, tallying three goals. It was the program's first hat trick since 2014 when Audi Jepson racked up three goals against Viterbo. Jepson happened to be on hand for Album's sensational performance.
TOMMY COUGHLIN - ALL-LEAGUE SECOND TEAM
Coughlin burst onto the scene in 2023, appearing in 15 games. He scored his lone goal of the regular season in a 2-1 victory over IUPUI on October 21. His presence has been key for Green Bay's midfield, tallying an assist and 11 shots.
