INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Thursday afternoon, the Horizon League announced Tiffany Giese as the Valeo Horizon League Spring Scholar-Athlete of the Season, alongside Oakland baseball outfielder Ian Cleary.
GB's centerfielder is the leader in numerous school records, including at-bats (583), runs scored (11), hits (192), and walks (63). The Huntley, Illinois native also collected Player of the Year and All-League First Team awards.
Giese earned her bachelor's degree in Education and received her master's degree in Education and Leadership, posting a 4.0 GPA while making the Horizon League Honor Roll four times in her career.
The Horizon League recognizes two Scholar-Athletes of the Season after each of its three athletic seasons. To be eligible for Scholar-Athlete of the Season consideration, a student-athlete must be a member of that sport's current year all-academic team and is selected based on a combination of athletic and academic achievement by the League's faculty athletics representatives.
