BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Phoenix fans will see a few familiar faces on the hardwood in the professional ranks this summer. Kam Hankerson, a 2020 UW-Green Bay graduate, and Keifer Sykes, a 2015 graduate, will participate in the NBA 2k24 Summer League. Summer League action tips off tonight.
 
Hankerson officially joined the Brooklyn Nets Summer League roster on June 30. He was on the Nets G-League team, the Long Island Nets, during the 2022-23 season, averaging 6.9 points and 2.1 rebounds per contest. Hankerson played under Linc Darner from 2016-2020 and made 58 starts, appearing in 128 games overall, tied with Rahmon Fletcher for fifth all-time in program history. His most notable performance as a Phoenix came on March 2, 2018, when he racked up a career-high 36 points versus Detroit Mercy in the first round of the Horizon League tournament.
 
Sykes, a recent Green Bay Phoenix Hall of Fame inductee, will continue his professional career with the Motor City Cruise, the Detroit Pistons G-League affiliate. Last season, he posted 15.6 points per game with the Cruise, shooting 42.9 percent from the field and 82.0 percent from the charity stripe. Prior to joining the Cruise, he spent one season with the Indiana Pacers after playing overseas for five years. Sykes was part of one of the most prolific runs in Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball history from 2011-15. He finished his Phoenix career as one of just two players to ever eclipse the 2,000-point mark at 2,096, just under 200 points shy of the all-time leading scorer, Tony Bennett. Sykes also ranks in the top 10 in free throws made, assists, steals, and games played.
