INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Another week, another accolade for the Green Bay men's soccer team! The Horizon League announced that Chris Album has won Under Armour Offensive Player of the Week this afternoon, just eight days after goalkeeper Tobias Jahn took home Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Album is a big reason for Green Bay's early-season success, racking up three of his five career goals in a 7-0 thrashing of Southern Indiana last Friday. He filled up the stat sheet, tallying nine shots, five shots on goal, seven points, and an assist. His three goals marked the first hat trick for the program since 2014 when Audi Jepson piled up five goals in an 8-0 victory over Viterbo.
The sophomore from Vancouver, British Columbia ranks among the best in the HL in several offensive categories, including second in shots (10), second in shots on goal (5), first in goals (3), and first in points (7).
As a team, Green Bay has been dominant offensively. The Phoenix has scored the second-most goals among all Horizon League teams with eight, alongside Cleveland State. Only Robert Morris has scored more goals (9).
Green Bay will begin Horizon League action this Saturday when they visit Detroit Mercy.
