MADISON, Wis. – The Green Bay swimming and diving team took on the Wisconsin Badgers last night.
MEN'S RECAP
The Phoenix had a good showing in the 1,000-yard freestyle, led by
Owen Kearns. He had a time of 10:05.06, good for a fourth-place completion.
John Burnard and
Jordan Spilde were right behind him, with times of 10:16.39 and 10:29.31, respectively.
Chris Aristondo did well in the 200-yard freestyle, placing fourth with a time of 1:46.19.
Max Kasal took fourth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 47.11. His counterpart Sebby Smolecki was on his heels for a fifth-place completion, finishing with a time of 47.74. In the men's 500-yard freestyle,
Ramiro Diaz took fourth with a time of 4:53.78, while
Liam Gilman placed fifth with a time of 4:56.15.
Andy Groebner took third on the one-meter board after scoring 211.58 points.
WOMEN'S RECAP
Elise Pasholk placed fourth in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:42.93. A few events later, freshman Hailey Duvall took fifth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.14. A week after freshmen dominated, another newcomer,
Ryann Nutt, placed fifth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.24, less than two seconds back of a top-three finish. Paige DeKiep and
Marisol Swenson were right behind Nutt.
Mia Pagel and
Esther Oswald impressed in the 200-yard backstroke, with the former finishing in fourth with a time of 2:10.63. Oswald, a senior, claimed the number five spot with a time of 2:11.74. On the diving board,
Rachel Everson scored 200.33 points during the three-meter event.
COMING UP
Green Bay will dive back into action next Saturday, October 19 at the Wisconsin Showcase hosted by UW-Milwaukee.
