Maalis Records New Record, Green Bay Defeats Valpo

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay swim and dive teams completed a weekend of meets against IU Indy and Valpo.

Against the Jaguars, GB fell 119-123 on the women's side and 79-164 on the men's side. On Saturday, the men defeated Valpo 116-89, while the women took care of business with a 114-91 victory.

MEN'S RECAP
Jerett Maalis led the charge in the 200-yard medley relay against IU Indy, pacing the Phoenix to first place with a time of 1:32.35. Max Kasal shined in the 50-yard freestyle versus the Jaguars with a time of 21.08, which was also good for first place.

Saturday afternoon against Valpo, Eli Zimmerman took first in the 50-yard freestyle, clocking in at 21.36. Chris Aristondo claimed the top spot in the 400-yard IM, sporting a time of 4:04.45. Kaleb Lombard stole the spotlight in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:54.79, getting the edge on Valpo's Matthew Mantz. Maalis posted a pool and freshman record time of 48.36 in the 100-yard backstroke on Saturday as well.

WOMEN'S RECAP
Annie Frederickson racked up 239.33 points to take the top spot on the three-meter board against IU Indy. Mia Pagel had a brilliant effort in the 200-yard medley relay, helping the Green and White to first place with a time of 1:47.47. Later on, Kaleigh Gale posted a time of 10:48.75 in the 1,000-yard freestyle, taking first place.

Versus Valpo on Saturday, Esther Oswald helped the Phoenix grab first place in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:57.45. Hannah Mellock narrowly took second in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:42.92. Junior Emily Allen claimed first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.99.

COMING UP
Green Bay will look ahead to its home meet against Wisconsin-Stevens Point and Wisconsin-Oshkosh next Friday and Saturday, respectively.
