GREEN BAY, Wis. – Welcome to this December's first edition of Phoenix Weekly, presented by Capital Credit Union! WEEK IN REVIEW
MEN'S BASKETBALL
The Green Bay men's basketball team lost its Horizon League opener on the road at IU Indianapolis 75-84 on Wednesday night. The Phoenix led at the half, but a 48-33 second half for the Jaguars was the difference on the night.

Anthony Roy had another outstanding night, pouring in 34 points to go with seven rebounds to lead the Phoenix. Foster Wonders helped out with 14 points and Marcus Hall chipped in with 11 points and six rebounds.
The Phoenix also fell to Cleveland State Saturday afternoon at the Resch Center, being paced by Foster Wonders and Mac Wrecke, who each tallied 10 points. Cleveland State led the whole way, taking it 83-61.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The Green Bay women's basketball team opened up Horizon League play in style with a 78-56 thrashing of IU Indianapolis Wednesday night at the Kress Center. GB's 78 points are the most scored so far this season and the team matched its season long three game win streak.

The Phoenix had five players score in double figures, the most in any game this season. Maddy Schreiber led the way with 16 points and six rebounds, while Maren Westin tied her career-high with 13 points off the bench. Cassie Schiltz chipped in with 12 to tie her season-high.

That win streak came to a close in a 67-66 loss to Purdue Fort Wayne on the road Saturday afternoon. The Phoenix was led by a great performance from Jasmine Kondrakiewicz, who scored a season-high 20 points, just one shy of tying her career-high. She paired that with a season-high 13 rebounds, also one shy of her career-high. Her double-double was the second of the season and seventh of her career.

A LOOK AHEAD
MEN'S BASKETBALL
Green Bay men's basketball looks to snap a long five-game losing streak as the Phoenix and head coach Doug Gottlieb turn their focus to the Battle of I-43 to face the Milwaukee Panthers at the Resch Center Wednesday at 6 p.m. On Saturday, the Phoenix will head out west to challenge the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos at 6 p.m. Anthony Roy still leads the country in scoring at 28.0 points per game as well as 5.00 three-pointers made per game on 11.1 attempts per game.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Green Bay women's basketball looks to get back in the win column as they hit the road to face in-state rival Milwaukee in the Cream City on Wednesday at 6 pm, then cap their week of women's basketball returning to the Kress Center in a rematch from last season's exciting thriller against Creighton on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Phoenix enter the week with a 6-4 record after a dominant 78-56 downing of IU Indy, and a 67-66 loss at Purdue Fort Wayne. Green Bay is led by their seniors, with Maddy Schreiber leading the squad in scoring with 13.0 points per game, Jasmine Kondrakiewicz leading GB with 7.0 rebounds per game, and Bailey Butler leading the Phoenix with 3.9 assists per game.
