INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Natalie McNeal has been named the Under Armour Horizon League Player of the Week, as announced by the HL this afternoon.
It's McNeal's first Player of the Week Award since coming to Titletown, and the third time the accolade has been awarded to a Phoenix this season. In the previous four seasons (2020-2023) combined, Green Bay had six Player of the Week awards. Jasmine Kondrakiewicz (January 29) and Cassie Schiltz (January 2) previously won the award.
The Germantown, Wisconsin native was sensational this past week, helping Green Bay go 2-0 with victories over Northern Kentucky and IUPUI. Against the Norse, McNeal scored 12 points and tied her career-high in rebounds with 16, the third time in her career (all with GB) that she's recorded 16 rebounds. On Saturday versus IUPUI, Natalie racked up 26 points to lead all scorers while grabbing another 15 rebounds, totaling 31 boards in the two contests. McNeal also tallied three assists and three steals against the Jaguars.
McNeal paces the Phoenix in points (13.8 PPG), rebounds (6.9 RPG, currently a career-high), free throws made and attempted (54-of-75, 72.0 percent), and field goals made and attempted (131-of-255, 51.4 percent). She ranks in the top 10 in the conference in several categories, including points per game (7th), rebounds per game (5th), and field goal percentage (4th).
McNeal and the Phoenix is back in action for a pair of road games this weekend, facing Robert Morris on Thursday evening before battling Youngstown State on Saturday afternoon.
