GREEN BAY, Wis. - Phoenix women's basketball head coach Kayla Karius has announced the addition of transfer guard Ellie Buzzelle.

A native of Rogers, Minnesota, Buzzelle comes to Titletown from Eastern Illinois. She began her collegiate career in 2022-23 with Grand Canyon University (GCU) before transferring to EIU. During her freshman campaign at Grand Canyon, Buzzelle appeared in 26 games (six starts). Averaging around 12 minutes per game, she shot nearly 31 percent overall. Buzzelle burst onto the scene last season with the Panthers, playing in 33 games (32 starts) while averaging 9.8 points per game and shooting 36.4 percent from the field. She also made 36.5 percent of her three-point attempts (70 of 192), which ranked second in the OVC in three-point percentage. Additionally, Buzzelle's 70 made three-pointers finished third in the OVC and second on EIU's single-season record book list. The lefty shooter had 10 straight games where she cashed in multiple three-pointers in a game. Her performances throughout the season earned her OVC Newcomer of the Week twice.

Buzzelle was a four-year starter at Rogers High School and was an All-Conference performer as a sophomore and junior. A member of the Minnesota Fury AAU Team, she helped lead the team to the UAA National Championships in the Summer of 2022.
