GREEN BAY, Wis. – Swimming and Diving Head Coach
Alex Lewis has announced the hiring of Maureen Lewis as the program's diving coach.
Maureen, who is not related to Alex, started her career young, boasting as a champion while in the AAU from ages 10-18. She began at the YMCA before eventually joining UWGB, where she was coached by the program's first-ever head coach, Roger Harriman. Maureen also trained under Hobie Billingsley, a former Olympic coach who guided Indiana University to 115 national diving titles and six NCAA championships.
"We are so excited to add Maureen to our staff!" said
Alex Lewis. "Her experience and passion will be a huge asset to our diving program! We look forward to the new heights she will bring our divers under her guidance!".
She attended the University of Minnesota, where she was a finalist in the Big 10 Championships and an NCAA qualifier. Maureen graduated from UM in 1989 with a bachelor's in communication. She has entrenched herself in the Green Bay community, currently serving as a substitute teacher in the Green Bay and De Pere school districts.
