INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Horizon League announced this afternoon that Chris Album has earned the Under Armour Player of the Week award.
After Senah Hanes collected the award for the women's soccer team, it marked the third time that both GB soccer teams have had a player of the week. Tony Walls and Megan Braatz were the recipients of the honor on September 13, 2010, while Lawrence Talery and Nastacia Behle won the award on October 27, 2014.
It's Album's second career Player of the Week honor. He was named POTW on September 5 last season. Chris scored three goals in two games last week, including one at Bradley and two against Detroit Mercy in the HL opener last Saturday. He has helped Green Bay reach a five-game winning streak, the longest regular season win streak since October 8-26, 2011. Green Bay's 5-1 win over UDM this past Saturday tied for the largest conference victory (+4 goal differential) since downing Detroit Mercy 4-0 on October 3, 2010.
Album leads Green Bay with four goals and eight points, is tied for first on the squad with eight shots on goal, and is second with 12 shots.
The Phoenix is back in action tomorrow at home against Parkside. Fans can follow the contest with live stats.
