Green Bay Set to Host Final Exhibition Against St. Norbert

GREEN BAY, Wis. – Green Bay men's basketball is set to host their final exhibition game Thursday night against St. Norbert at 6 p.m. CT at the Kress Center.
 
Green Bay's first ever Toilet Paper Toss presented by Georgia Pacific will coincide with the game. All fans in attendance will receive a free roll of Angel Soft® toilet paper courtesy of Georgia-Pacific to throw on the court when the Phoenix score their first points of the game. Play on the court will be stopped to clean up all the toilet paper, which will be given back to Georgia-Pacific to recycle.

ABOUT THE GREEN KNIGHTS
St. Norbert is coming off a 23-7 record, including a NACC Tournament Championship and an NCAA Division III Tournament appearance. Head Coach and Green Bay men's basketball alum Gary Grzesk is in his 19th season at the helm of St. Norbert. Connor Pytleski and Cole Uhlenbrauck are the leading returners of the Green Knights from the 2024-25 season. Pytleski averaged 7.5 points and 3.9 rebounds, as Uhlenbrauck averaged 6.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Green Bay fought hard in its first exhibition game of the 2025-26 season, losing to Bradley 83-78. The Phoenix trailed 47-31 at halftime, but outscored Bradley 47-36 in the second half. Marcus Hall had 15 points and six assists. Rob Stroud scored 14 points off the bench, and C.J. O'Hara added 12 points and six rebounds.
 
MONEY MARCUS
Phoenix forward Marcus Hall is the highest returning leading scorer this season. Hall averaged 13.9 points and 4.2 rebounds in 33.8 minutes per game, shooting 42.2 percent from the floor and 36.7 percent from three-point range. Hall was named to the Horizon League Preseason First Team on October 8.
 
RUDY'S RETURN
Preston Ruedinger has been a key contributor for Green Bay in the past two seasons. He averaged eight points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game last season. He tied a season-high 14 points in a home win over Wright State (February 16, 2025). He recorded five or more assists in a game six times. Ruedinger scored a career-high 26 points in a win at Youngstown State in the 2023-24 season. Ruedinger scored seven points and had five assists against Bradley in the first exhibition game for GB.
 
LEBRON TO GREEN BAY
LeBron Thomas was a two-time NJCAA All-American at Vincennes University. He averaged 14.3 points, 5.8 assists, and four rebounds per game in the 2024-25 season. LeBron finished last season scoring in double figures 17 times and registered four double-doubles. Thomas's season-high came in a win over Triton College, where he scored 39 points. He helped lead Vincennes to a 58-9 record over his two seasons there.
 
SOLID STROUD
Rob Stroud is in his first season at Green Bay after spending two years at Kanakee CC and two years at Lewis University. Last year, Stroud led the Flyers in points per game with 17.1 and rebounds per game with 7.3. His season high came in a loss against Missouri S&T, where he scored 33 points.
 
VETERAN PRESENCE
Green Bay sophomore Ramel Bethea is the oldest player in college basketball at 29 years old. Bethea spent his freshman season in 2024-25 at MiraCosta College, a junior college in San Diego, after spending five years in the military.
 
YEAR TWO
Heading into the 2025-26 season, Doug Gottlieb enters his second year as the head coach of Green Bay men's basketball. Gottlieb, well-known for his broadcasting career, brings with him a wealth of experience as a player, commentator, analyst, and coach in the basketball world. As a broadcaster, he currently hosts the Doug Gottlieb show on Fox Sports Radio and All Ball, a podcast covering the biggest stories across college basketball and the NBA.
 
INTERNATIONAL TALENT
The 2025-26 Phoenix roster features players from two different foreign countries and 11 from different U.S. states. Maruan Cicic is from Montenegro, and Vukasin Todorovic is from Slovenia.
 
NEW ERA SAME RISE
After a season with 12 newcomers a season ago, the 2025-26 Green Bay roster will bring in 10 newcomers this year. Of GB's rostered players, six are returners, six are transfers, and four are true freshmen.
 
FAMILIAR FACES
Multiple returners will play large roles in the upcoming 2025-26 season, including Marcus Hall, Preston Ruedinger, Mac Wrecke, and C.J. O'Hara. Last season, Hall averaged 13.9, Ruedinger averaged 8.0, Wrecke averaged 6.1, and O'Hara averaged 4.0 points per game. Caden Wilkins and Brady Fitzgerald are the other two returners to the Phoenix squad.

Over the summer, The Phoenix brought in four freshmen for the 2025-26 season: Keegan Van Kauwenberg, Vukasin Todorovic, Trey Schachter, and Maruan Cicic. Six transfers make their way to Green Bay this season, including Ramel Bethea, Josh Hines, Justin Allen, Dontrell Hewlett, Rob Stroud, and LeBron Thomas.
