GREEN BAY, Wis. – In a joint press conference on Tuesday, December 2, Green Bay Athletics announced that on Saturday, April 18, 2026, the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay will make history, playing its first-ever football game as the Frozen Phoenix. The two-time Indoor Football League Franchise of the Year winners and 2025 Indoor Football Eastern Conference Champions, the Green Bay Blizzard, will become the Frozen Phoenix as they take on an alter-ego for the first time in their team's history.

The giveaway for the April 18 game will be a 'Frozen Phoenix' snowglobe, and the Blizzard will become the Frozen Phoenix for the day, sporting the special logo on its jersey and helmets.
The game will be played at the Resch Center on Saturday, April 18, and when the Frozen Phoenix scores during the game, it will snow in the Resch Center. Along with the Frozen Phoenix snowglobe giveaway, there will be a frozen pizza giveaway, a special game ball, special Frozen Phoenix merchandise available, and an auction for the Frozen Phoenix jerseys.
