GREEN BAY, Wis. – Liaoning Tieren Football Club of China League One, the second tier of Chinese soccer, has announced the signing of Aidan Fong.
Fong, a native of Vancouver, British Columbia, appeared in 17 out of 20 games, including 14 starts, in 2024 for the Phoenix. He helped lead the Green and White to an 11-7-2 record and a Horizon League Tournament semifinal appearance as a true freshman. He also earned Horizon League All-League Third Team honors. Fong scored one goal on six shots and tallied one assist, which set up a game-winner against Southern Indiana, in 1,155 minutes this season.
"This is an amazing opportunity for Aidan," said Green Bay Head Coach John O'Reilly. "All players dream to play professionally and my staff and I couldn't be happier to help Aidan achieve this dream. He is the first pro signee in my tenure as a head coach, so it has been a special moment personally and for the program, one I definitely won't forget. We wish Aidan the best of luck!".
Fong trained at the Vancouver Whitecaps Youth Training Academy in Vancouver, Canada, for five years before his time at Green Bay. He played 15 games for the Canadian U17 team, participating in the U17 Championship and the U17 World Cup. Fong will join the team for Winter training in Thailand after contract negotiations have finished.
