GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay swimming and diving team held its final home meet of the 2024-25 campaign on Saturday. GB celebrated 20 seniors, including 13 women and seven men.
Several records were broken, including the 200 freestyle and 200 medley relay.
Ella Anderson, one of the seniors, highlighted the women's performances with a 2nd-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke, recording a time of 2:28.82. The GB women were solid in the 200-yard medley relay, taking 2nd with a time of 1:49.36. Mia Pagel, who placed second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:09.75), paced the Phoenix in the medley race. Kaleigh Gale finished in second place, recording a time of 10:48.86 in the 1,000-yard freestyle. The Green and White were solid on the board, with Annie Frederickson placing second in the one-meter (2321.15 points) and three-meter (227.17 points) dives. Rachel Everson wasn't far behind Frederickson, taking third on both the one and three-meter boards with a score of 214.28 and 219.22, respectively.
On the men's side, Jarett Maalis led the way in the 200-yard medley relay, leading Green Bay to a second-place finish with a time of 1:29.22. Maalis also broke the freshman record in the 200-yard backstroke, recording a time of 1:48.10. Max Kasal, another senior coming off a dominant 2023-24 season, finished in third place in the 100-yard freestyle. His time of 45.95 was less than four-tenths of a second back of first place. Kasal also led the Phoenix to a first-place completion in the 200-yard freestyle, with GB recording a time of 1:38.68. Zacha King was the fastest in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing the race in 50.07 seconds. Kaleb Lombard placed second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:53.36. Andy Groebner, among the group of seniors, scored 276.07 points on the one-meter board.
