GREEN BAY, Wis. - Women's basketball head coach Kayla Karius announced today the addition of Carley Duffney (Duff-KNEE) to the 2025-26 roster.

A native of Green Bay and a Green Bay Preble High School graduate, Duffney returns home after spending the last four collegiate seasons at South Dakota, with Karius at the helm for two of them (2022-2024). She was part of the Coyotes' NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 run during the 2021-22 campaign, in which she redshirted. During the 2022-23 season, Duffney found a spot in the starting lineup halfway through the season and flourished, shooting over 45 percent overall while drilling nearly 87 percent of her free throws.

"We're thrilled to welcome Carley Duffney back home to Green Bay!", said Karius. "I really enjoyed coaching Carley for our two seasons together at USD. Her versatility and skill set will fit our motion offense system perfectly, plus she will bring four years of collegiate basketball experience along with her. Welcome back, Carley and Duffney family!".

This most recent season, Duffney averaged a career-best in points (10.9) and rebounds (4.1). She started every game and averaged 35 minutes per contest. Two seasons ago, Duffney made the Summit League Commissioner's List in 2023-24 and was tabbed to the CSC All-Academic List in 2023-24. For her career, she averages 43.1 percent shooting from the field, 84.3 percent from the charity stripe, and 3.5 rebounds per contest.

"I'm super excited to be coming home to play for Coach Kayla and all of the Phoenix fans!", commented Duffney. "I'm looking forward to joining this winning program that I've been watching since I was a little kid. Can't wait! Go Phoenix!".

While at Preble High School, she garnered the Fox River Classic Conference Player of the Year honors as a junior. She scored over 1,000-points for the Hornets while garnering All-FRCC First-Team honors twice. Off the hardwood, she was a member of the Hornets' volleyball and track and field teams, owning the school record in the 300-meter hurdles. Additionally, she was a National Honor Society member and ranked in the top-five percent of class for GPA.
