INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. –
Maddy Schreiber has been selected as a Horizon League Winter Scholar-Athlete, the League announced Thursday morning. Cleveland State's Jackson Nester was selected on the men's side.
Schreiber is a four-time member of the Dean's list, most recently achieving the highest honors. She was rewarded for her academic excellence earlier this season by the Horizon League, earning All-Academic Team honors. The Appleton, Wisconsin native was also tabbed to the Horizon League All-League First Team in 2025 and All-League Second Team in 2024.
On the hardwood, she finished the season averaging 12.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 27.1 minutes per game. She was the only player in the country to shoot above 90% from the line, 50% overall, and 50% from beyond the arc in conference play.
The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes at the conclusion of each of its three athletic seasons as the Scholar-Athlete of the Season. To be eligible for Scholar-Athlete of the Season consideration, a student-athlete must be a member of that sport's current year all-academic team. Honorees are selected based on a combination of athletic and academic achievement by the League's faculty athletics representatives.
