BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Green Bay Men's Soccer team led the No. 11-ranked Indiana Hoosiers at the half on Thursday night but eventually fell 2-1 thanks to a pair of second-half goals from the hosts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Green Bay jumped out in front immediately, thanks to a
Chris Album goal just one minute and 48 seconds into the match.
Noah Lechelt provided the assist. Green Bay capitalized on its opportunities, scoring their goal on one of three first-half shots. Indiana put the pressure on the GB goal, finishing the first half with 12 shots.
The Hoosiers kept the pressure on in the second half, and that paid off in a big way shortly into the half. Michael Nesci evened it up for IU in the 56th minute, and then thirty seconds later, took the lead thanks to a Palmer Ault goal. GB had three shots in the second half as well, but couldn't score another, falling 2-1.
GAME NOTES
- IU outshot Green Bay 22-6 on the day, including nine shots on goal to GB's three.
- Philip Oesterbaek started in goal for the Phoenix and finished with seven saves.
- GB commit 16 fouls while Indiana commit ten.
