INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – On Thursday afternoon, the Horizon League announced the 2026 Valeo #HLGOLF All-Academic Team. Green Bay had players represented, with Mason Haupt and Ellie Frisch earning All-Academic Team honors, while Trent Meyer and Riley Pechinski were named Honorable Mention.
Haupt led the Phoenix men's golf team, finishing third at the 2026 Horizon League Championships, earning an All-Tournament selection. Haupt was the individual champion at the 2025 Tom Tontimonia Invitational and Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate. Haupt also earned Horizon League Academic Honor Roll honors in Fall 2025 and a spot on the All-League First Team.
Trent Meyer is a member of five consecutive Horizon League honor rolls and a 2025 All-Academic Team member. Meyer finished 40th at the #HLGOLF Championships and T-11 at the Tom Tontimonia Invitational.
Ellie Frisch was one of the top Phoenix golfers on the women's side, finishing ninth at the Horizon League Championships, along with a second-place finish at the Western Illinois Intercollegiate, and a seventh-place finish at the NKU Julie Invitational. Frisch is a four-time member of the Horizon League Honor Roll and a 2025 All-Academic Team selection.
Riley Pechinski won the 2026 Western Illinois Intercollegiate and finished T-19th at the Horizon League Championships. She is a three-time member of the Horizon League Honor Roll and a 2025 & 2026 Horizon League First Teamer.
The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes with seasonal Academic All-League Teams in each of its 19 championship sports. To be eligible for Horizon League All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher (based on a 4.00 scale), have completed at least one year at the member institution, having earned 24 semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour credits, and participate in 50 percent of the team's overall contests.
