Carol Hammerle talks about the impact that Title IX had on her career. Carol was the first head coach in the history of Green Bay Phoenix Women's Basketball, and coached the team to many victories from 1973 to 1998.
On August 29th, 2019, Sheryl Van Gruensven was named the Interim Chancellor at UW-Green Bay, the first female to serve in the role. Sheryl currently serves as the Chief Business Officer/Senior Vice Chancellor for Institutional Strategy at Green Bay.
On September 15, 2022, UW-Green Bay hosted a reception and panel to discuss Title IX: where we've been, where we are now, and where we're going. Among the panelists were Green Bay head volleyball coach Abbey Sutherland and current volleyball team captain, Tiffany Paalman.

In December 1973, the Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball team made its intercollegiate debut.

Women's Basketball becomes the first to win a women's conference championship at Green Bay in 1982-83.

Women's Basketball's Sue Pitroski was named an Honorable Mention All-American in 1983, the first to do so in Green Bay women's sports. Pam Roecker, also from women's basketball, was named the first Academic All-American in 1983.

The women's basketball program transitioned from the NAIA to NCAA Division 1 in 1987-1988 when they joined the North Star Conference.

Jeanne Barta Stangel (Women's Basketball) and Lisa Hanson Dyer (Women's Swimming and Diving) were the first two females inducted into the Green Bay Athletics Hall of Fame. They were both inducted with the first hall of fame class in 1993.

Green Bay Athletics women's teams have made a combined 22 NCAA Tournament apperances across basketball, softball, and volleyball.

There have been nine women's All-Americans in Green Bay history.
