GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Freshman Alec
Brown's (Winona, Minn.) eight blocks
were one of two school records set in Green Bay's 72-68 victory over North
Dakota on Monday night at the Resch Center. Brown's block total helped the
Phoenix swat away 10 shots in the game, also setting a school record as a team.
Brown
was one of the major reasons that Green Bay rallied past North Dakota despite
trailing by 12 points in the second half. The 7-foot-1 freshman also scored a
career-high 19 points, hitting 4-of-8 shots from the field and connecting on
10-of-13 free throws.
"I
think Alec Brown is coming out of his shell a little bit right now. He is one
of our most consistent players on the team," said head coach Brian Wardle. "I know what I am getting from him every night we play, and
tonight was a game where he built on his Wisconsin game (18 points last
Monday)."
