GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - As No. 12/12 Green Bay senior Julie Wojta (Francis Creek, Wis.) earns awards for her play on the court, the 6'0" forward is also receiving recognition for her performance in the classroom as she has been named to the Capital One Second Team Academic All-America.

Wojta is the sixth player in the history of the Green Bay (23-1, 13-1 HL) women's basketball program to be selected to an Academic All-America Team and third to be named to the second team. Maintaining a 3.58 grade-point average and Business Administration and Accounting major, Wojta was an Academic All-District selection earlier in the month of February.

The team captain leads the Phoenix with 19.2 points, 10.3 rebounds and 3.7 steals per game and was a mid-season addition to the Wade Trophy Watch list. With 1,455 career points and 762 career rebounds, Wojta is one of three players in program history to be in the top six on Green Bay's individual career record list in both categories. With her current scoring average, Wojta is on pace to finish her career at Green Bay fifth all-time in scoring.

In Green Bay's game against Wright State Feb. 11, Wojta had a career-high 30 points, 20 rebounds and four blocks, setting a Kress Center record in rebounds and blocks. The four-time Horizon League Player of the Week is the first player in program history to post a 30 point-20 rebound performance. In Green Bay's win at Milwaukee Jan. 7, Wojta grabbed a Horizon League and program record 12 steals, 11 in the first half of play, while pouring in a game-high 27 points in 25 minutes of play.

With 13 double doubles on the season, Wojta ranks eighth in the nation in the statistic and ranks seventh in steals per game. As a team, Green Bay is second in the nation in turnover margin (9.58), seventh in assists per game (17.7), eighth in free-throw percentage (77.4), and ninth in scoring margin (19.3).

To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve and maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a 4.00 scale.

Green Bay hosts Valpo (8-17, 4-10 HL) in its final regular season homestand Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. before closing with Butler (12-13, 8-6 HL) Saturday, Feb. 25 in its annual PinkZone game. Tickets are still available here for the contest against Valpo but sold out for the Feb.25 contest.
