GREEN BAY,
Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - After
becoming the first Green Bay golfer to win the Horizon League title in more
than 10 years, junior Chad Ebert
(Kenosha, Wis.) will head to Ann Arbor, Mich., next week to compete at the 2012
NCAA Golf Championships Ann Arbor Regional from May 17-19.
The 54-hole event will be held at the par-71,
6,723-yard University of Michigan Golf Course. The Ann Arbor Regional will
feature 13 teams and 10 individuals, with the low five teams and the low
individual not on an advancing team moving on to the NCAA Finals held at
Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles from May 29-June 3.
Ebert won the 2012 Horizon League individual title on
April 29 when he shot an even-par 72 in the final round to win
the event by two strokes. The junior's victory was the first of his
collegiate career and helped the Phoenix finish in second place in the team
championship.
He became the first Phoenix golfer to win the Horizon
League championship since Shaun Rezachek in 2001 and the second all-time.
Rezachek was also the individual medalist in 1998.
