GREEN BAY,
Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Green
Bay volleyball head coach Michaela
Franklin released her team's spring schedule on Tuesday, one that includes
four road contests during March and April. The Phoenix kicks off its spring
slate on March 30 in Milwaukee against Franklin's former Marquette squad, then
travels to face Wisconsin (April 6), Loyola (April 13) and Milwaukee (April
18).
"I am excited for our spring competition dates,"
Franklin said. "I believe we have a schedule that will challenge us and prepare
us for this coming fall. We have been busy with individual practices and will
begin our team practices at the end of the month. It will be nice to put the
pieces of the puzzle together on the court."
Franklin, who took
over at Green Bay on Jan. 8 after spending the last four seasons as an
assistant at Marquette, recently announced the hiring
of assistant coach Patrick Bowlin on Feb. 12. Franklin's 2013 squad will
consist of eight returning letterwinners, including senior setter Leah Poel (Jenison, Mich.) and senior
outside hitter Lyndsay Zabkowicz
(Oak Creek, Wis.), who led the team with 303 kills last season.
