GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay women's swimming and diving squad welcomed Youngstown State to Dorschel Natatorium for Horizon League dual action this afternoon. The Phoenix touched the wall first in nine of the 14 swimming events and claimed individual victories in both the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions today, leading to a 168-120 rout of the Penguins.

Freshman Stephanie Garvin (West Chicago, Ill.) stayed true to form this afternoon, claiming two individual victories for Green Bay in the 1650 free (17:40.58) and the 500 free (5:08.96).

Joining Garvin and claiming two individual wins of her own was Haley Lucas (Menomonee falls, Wis.), who bested the six-competitor field in the 200 fly by more than three seconds, touching the wall in 2:08.42. Lucas' second individual win of the day came after completing the 100 fly in 58.54, defeating Youngstown State's Rachel Shipp by a two-second margin. Lucas also aided the trio of Emily Gomez, Racheal Weiland and Natalie Neuwirth to victory in the 400-yard medley relay, with the quartet completing the medley in 3:58.14.

Crystal Franzwa (Winona, Minn.) continued her success on the boards this afternoon, claiming both of the meet's diving competitions. Franzwa finished the 1-meter event with 258.15, giving her a four-point advantage over Youngstown State's McKenzie Stelter for first place. Franzwa dominated the 3-meter competition and turned in a total score of 268.08, claiming first place by a 20-point margin.

Other individual event winners on the women's side included Autumn Roepsch (Dubuque, Iowa) who touched the wall first in the 100 breast with 1:07.81, Racheal Weiland (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) who claimed victory in the 200 breast (2:28.54) and Claire Friederick (Lancaster, Wis.) who showed off her speed in the 50 free by touching the wall in 24.30.

After the Phoenix men compete at the Butler Invitational tomorrow, both Green Bay squads welcome in-state rival Milwaukee to the Peter F. Dorschel Natatorium next Saturday, Jan. 31 for a 1 p.m. start time.
