INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay men's golf team finished in fifth place on Tuesday at the Butler Spring Invitational played at Prestwick Country Club. Senior Tyler Schmidt (Jefferson, Wis.) led the Phoenix in a tie for 18th place after carding consecutive rounds of 78.
Senior Tom Boockmeier (Green Bay, Wis.) bounced back from a tough opening round to card a 1-over 73 in Tuesday's second round. Boockmeier and senior Joseph Collard (Marinette, Wis.) tied for 25th place.
Junior Gene Kiela (Plymouth, Wis.) and senior Chad Bonis (New Berlin, Wis.), playing as an individual, tied for 33rd place while sophomore Joe Du Chateau (Fond du Lac, Wis.) rounded out the scores in a tie for 52nd place.
