With basketball season in full swing and March Madness just around the corner, the Green Bay Phoenix announced on Tuesday that ticket packages for the 2016 Horizon League Women's Basketball Championship to be held from March 10-13 will be on-sale begin this morning, Wednesday, Jan. 20, beginning at 11 a.m.
Green Bay was granted rights to host the tournament at the Kress Center through a bid process, as it looks to create a postseason atmosphere that rivals any league championship around the country. It marks the 10th consecutive year the Phoenix will host, but just the first time since the 2001 season the entire 10-team field will compete at a centralized location for all four rounds.
Fans will have the option to purchase the full tournament package, which includes tickets to every round and a complimentary tournament T-shirt for $40. Those who select the package can expect to be charged for tickets to all round before receiving them in the mail. Included with your tickets will be a T-shirt voucher that can be redeemed inside the Dick Bennett Gym during any round of the tournament. Tickets for individual rounds will go on-sale February 15 at 11 a.m.
Current Phoenix season-ticket holders can expect to receive notification of this once-a-year opportunity via mail, while those still looking to reserve their spot can visit here. Fans are strongly encouraged to complete the form by Friday, February 12, to guarantee the best seats available.
Led by head coach Kevin Borseth, the Green Bay women's basketball team has begun its season 15-2 with a 5-0 record in conference play as it seeks its 18th consecutive Horizon League crown. The Phoenix is fresh off a historic defensive performance at home on Jan. 16 against UIC, when it held the Flames to a Kress Center record 22 points.
